I never thought watching grass grow could be so thrilling!
Let me make myself perfectly clear at the outset. I make no claim to be any kind of expert in lawn and garden care. I am just an average schmuck trying to make my yard look presentable. I have no illusions about ever having the "perfect" lawn that so many homeowners aim for. In fact, it has been my experience that have such high expectations for your lawn is largely a "fool's errand". Since we purchased our home nearly two decades ago I have had precious little luck maintaining our lawn. Frankly, the soil in our yard is lousy. And to make matters even worse about a year ago we had a major plumbing problem that necessitated digging up a significant portion of our front lawn with a backhoe. I was getting desperate.Late last summer I began repairing our lawn in sections. I vowed that this time I would use better seed and add lots of topsoil. good dirt!
Beautiful looking growing medium! I'll be using this to crack my spring seeds. Opened a bag to have a closer look and found what seems to be a perfect mix. It's light, moist and smells sweet with no big clumps of peat. I can hardly wait!

Awesome product!
I'm currently working on a balcony project where I'm trying to create a small personal oasis & was curious about organics. I was so pleased upon stumbling onto this stuff! I'm trying to veer as far away from everyday gardening as possible where the soil & thus the plants coming from that soil is lacking proper nutrients to sustain itself. Having a compost machine is great however you also need actual soil & this pure organic soil does the trick! :) The company will even work with you on delivery which shows the company is very much engaged & proactive! Again, this is an awesome product & for the price you get alot healthy, rich, organic soil! Without a doubt a great buy & I'm proud to know that I'm supporting a large movement back towards organics.

Difference between garden and potting soil
I purchased Miracle-Gro Garden Soil to plant a hydrangea in my back yard. I wanted to give it a bit of good soil around the root ball instead of the clay I have. I have purchased potting soil on many occasions for my container garden but this time we got a bag of Garden Soil. Turns out there is a big difference! I did not give it much thought before. Potting soil has peat moss in it, it is airy, and it has a nice earthy smell. Garden soil is dense, heavy, and smells like cow manure. I had to dampen the dirt around the roots of the plant with my knuckles and my nose was low to the ground and, boy, did it smell. I was quite pleased for my plant but could not help yelling out, boy, is it stinky!As far as price, I got my dirt at the local home improvement store for $7.50. Shipping dirt is expensive.
